SEA TURTLES

     

I heard today is world sea turtle day! 🐢 It seems like there are “days” dedicated to just about everything — but this one especially caught my attention. 

    

There’s something extraordinarily special about sea turtles’ resiliency to live and thrive. Within moments of hatching, baby sea turtles head for the water; their pathway to life. 

  

What’s amazing to me is how these little ones find sea from sand: they follow the downward slope of the beach and reflections of the moon and stars on the water. What’s more? Sea turtles are better together. Hatching almost at once, the newest sea turtles pioneer together water-ward for protection against predators. (Thanks NOAA for the deets!) 

  

Here’s the point — we can learn so much from these baby sea turtles! Bent on instinct, these tiny creatures know life is found in the water. Their mission is set to move that way no matter what the path brings. I don’t want to miss that for us - Jesus is our living water! We are made to move His direction and live for Him. And like these sea turtles, we’re better together on the journey. If one gets lost, the others are there to help and point back towards the path. And even more for us, the Lord does just that too. He promises He will (and does!) guide us, advise us, watch over us. What a blessed assurance indeed! 💚
