MORNING GLORY 27

Good morning, friends. On this election day, I want to offer a favorite quote and a line of Scripture as our prayer for today.

Jesus' words from Luke 11:3 feel extra fitting on 11.3.20. 

"Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our sins, as we forgive those who sin against us." 

Today is enough for today. God does not give us more or less bread than we can handle. Even on days that feel like we're less than fed, He give us manna from His Spirit -- provision nothing in this world can give. We are forgiven by the blood of Jesus and called extend this same grace for others. We are called to be kind and merciful as our Father is to us. Is it hard work? Yes. Is it holy work? Absolutely, yes.

Yes, today is enough for today, so do not worry about tomorrow. The kingdom is not in trouble, and neither are we. May it be so.
