JOYFUL HEART BLESSINGS 20
"After seeing him, the shepherds told everyone what had happened and what the angel had said to them about this child. All who heard the shepherds’ story were astonished, but Mary kept all these things in her heart and thought about them often. The shepherds went back to their flocks, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen. It was just as the angel had told them." -Luke 2:17-20
What was the shepherds’ response to all they had seen? They couldn’t help but share with others! Isn’t that such a human response? Good news and big news travel fast. We, too, have the opportunity in our everyday corners to share about Jesus. The shepherds returned to their normal, everyday work in the fields. Nothing fancy, nothing extraordinary, just sheep! But God gave the shepherds something big to share with the people around them. He makes us all messengers in our homes, neighborhoods, and communities to share this good news of great joy. We don't need certain qualifications or platforms. All we need to do is follow the shepherds’ lead to go and tell!
Let's pray together.
Dear Jesus,
As Christmas Day draws even closer, open an opportunity for me to share Your good news with someone else. Show me, in my everyday spaces, where there is need for others to know Your love. This time of year is busy, and this week feels the busiest. It can be all too easy to get caught up in the plans and celebrations, fun as they may be. Quiet my heart in this moment. Remind me that You are the gift this season, and You are very good news forever worthy of sharing.
In Your Name, Amen.
Blessing for little ones
Dear Jesus, help me to share Your good news with my family and friends. I’m so thankful Your love never ends! Remind us all Your good news is true, and that You are with us in all we do. Amen.
