JOYFUL BLESSINGS 03

   

Advent means coming. Yes, our King Jesus is coming! Righteous, victorious, humble. All are in His nature. The world expected a warrior on a stallion, but God sent a baby in a manger. Matthew 21 fulfills the Old Testament prophecy in Zechariah 9 of our King coming on a donkey. Jesus did not send His disciples to bring a stallion to ride, but a donkey colt. Lowly, unassuming, humble. And yet, all righteousness and victory belong to Him! God works in unexpected ways to accomplish His will. All glory be to our Lord Jesus. This season we wait, brimming with expectation. Christmas day marks Hope and Life coming into the world. Even so, we also wait for Him to return again.

"Rejoice, O people of Zion! Shout in triumph, O people of Jerusalem! Look, your King is coming to you. He is righteous and victorious, yet He is humble, riding on a donkey - riding on a donkey's colt." Zechariah 9:9

Dear Lord,

You came to us as a baby, lowly, unassuming, humblest of beginnings. Again and again humbled Yourself, once riding on a donkey, and once and for all on the cross. May I remember and hold close the true meaning of Christmas, wrapped entirely in Your life. Amen.

   

Dear Jesus, You are my Savior King! You lived a humble life and show me how to follow You. May I always remember my salvation is found in You alone. Amen.
